Job Description
A jr system administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining an organization's computer systems. They assist in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software. Jr system administrators also perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system backups and updates. They may provide technical support to end-users and work with senior staff to resolve more complex issues. Additionally, junior system administrators may be responsible for monitoring system performance and maintaining system security. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team are essential for success in this role.
Adding and removing new users to our systems either through our current automations or manually where automation is not possible.
Organizing user and system settings in order to achieve efficiency in administration and use.
Auditing and ensuring that current employee information is accurate across systems.
Updating and managing access controls across all systems. Ensuring we are using security best practices where possible.
Working with Managers and 3rd party CRM agents to manage updates to our commonly used documents such as contract, or customer notices.
Work with stakeholders to evaluate and implement system settings changes as needed.
Keeping our office network running smoothly and up to date with the latest security patches.
Evaluate work from home employees networks for acceptable speed in the Contact Center.
Monitor work from home employees network performance through our telephony system and make sure their network is performing up to requirements and customers are not getting disconnected due to poor performance.
Managing changes to our ticketing system, Zendesk, and working with the IT Director to design and implement routing, assignment, and automation changes to the system as needed.
Designing and documenting workflows and configurations where needed and keeping the documentation up to date.
Training end users on how to use new systems as they are introduced through training meetings and the production of training documents.
Work with Systems Developers and the IT Director to plan and execute the automation of common tasks and help create a robust network of interdependent systems to help increase organization and efficiency across the company.
Assist with managing and planning asset depreciation. Monitor device performance and evaluate equipment needs by department/title.
Manage computer app updates and distribution through our MDM system.
Submitting system bills to the IT Director for payment and managing licenses.
Assisting the Help Desk with escalated tickets that require Systems Administrator assistance to resolve.
Research and present alternatives to current systems and processes proactively.
Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or another closely related field.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, technical skills, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask
Ticket management experience
Previous experience with help desk duties or Systems Administration preferred.
Experience with the following systems is preferred, but not required:
Zendesk
Managing forms, automations, users, groups, ticket routing, reporting, and any other tasks as needed.
G Suite
Specifically managing users, security, and creating and maintaining SAML/SSO connections with other systems
PestRoutes/FieldRoutes/SalesRoutes
JAMF
Maas360 or other Windows MDM
NICE CX One
