Job Location: Remote: Home-Based

Openings: 1 (Must reside in one of the following states: Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, Colorado, California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, or Washington D.C.)

Schedule: Full Time 

Hours: Exempt

Travel: Occasionally required

Salary: $85,000 - $96,000

The Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust (BHMT) is a Taft-Hartley Education Trust established by Kaiser Permanente and union representatives of its Alliance and Coalition represented workforce. It is dedicated to support life-long learning and its individual members' career management. As such, BHMT offers a portfolio of diverse programs to support eligible union employees throughout their Kaiser Permanente career journey including:

  • Comprehensive Career Development Coaching including Assessments, Exploration, Goal Setting, Education and Training, Job Change, and Career Management
  • Career Coaching, Certifications, Degrees, Skills, Continuing Education, Financial Assistance, and Laptop Lending

BHMT works closely with Kaiser Permanente’s (KP) National Workforce Planning and Development Department and its Regional counterparts to constantly adapt and expand Trust offerings to meet the needs of both our management and labor union partners as well as those of the individual participant.

The purpose of Career Development is to empower clients to effectively drive their own professional development by providing personalized, confidential, and professional coaching during all facets of their career journeys.

 

DESCRIPTION

An IT Systems Analyst serves as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions. This professional is responsible for analyzing, designing, and overseeing the implementation of various IT projects to improve business efficiency and productivity. The role involves extensive collaboration with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements, design effective IT solutions, and manage project execution.

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of both business processes and IT systems. The IT Systems Analyst must be adept at problem-solving, managing multiple priorities, and adapting to changing requirements. Effective collaboration with IT professionals, business stakeholders, and external vendors is essential for the successful delivery of IT solutions that align with business goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Develops and maintains detailed documentation of IT processes, system requirements, and user manuals.
  • Designs and executes comprehensive software testing plans to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Implements robust data backup and recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss.
  • Assesses and enhances cybersecurity measures to protect organizational data and systems.
  • Manages IT projects, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ensures quality assurance and compliance with organizational standards and objectives.
  • Facilitates change management processes to ensure smooth adoption of new systems or modifications.
  • Device management (mobile and desktop devices) and IT Help Desk functions to be assigned. 
  • Coordinates with managers and users to identify systems problems; assesses severity of the issues and prioritizes responses as appropriate.
  • Works with users to identify system requirements; develops processing procedures and systems modifications to meet these specifications.
  • Uses structured and cost analysis to identify and recommend updates to the current network and computer systems.
  • Drafts informational materials and graphics to explain systems to managers and users.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Job-Specific Requirements:

  •  A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in IT systems analysis, project management, or a related field.
  • Certifications in cybersecurity, data management, software testing and systems documentation
  • Previous work experience in large a healthcare environment

BHMT is a fast-paced work environment embedded within the larger corporate structure of Kaiser Permanente. The position will be based remotely with a laptop and phone provided by BHMT. Will require occasional travel to organization-wide offsites and vendor/partnership meetings.
