POSITION SUMMARY
The IT System Administrator Junior is responsible for designing, building, improving, and maintaining highly reliable, sustainable, cost-effective, and secure IT infrastructure systems. The position will install/configure new hardware, design, build, maintain and deploy end-user device environment. Design, develop and maintain the hospital's Microsoft Windows enterprise environment and is responsible for system performance monitoring, tuning and general maintenance (logs, backups, etc.). Provides higher tier support for problem escalation. The IT System Administrator Junior provides outstanding client service and contributes to the hospital's mission of utilizing information technology to improve work flows and patient care.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Lincesure/Certification/Registrations: Microsoft Network or Systems level certification (MS 365 Admin, MS Endpoint Admin, MS certified Systems or Network Admin) preferred or applicable work experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience required. BBA, MIS or BS in Computer Science preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in PC technical support and management of Windows 10+, PCs (hardware and software) and MS Office Applications. 1 year of experience in systems administration required or equivalent technical experience. 1 year or more of experience with one or more of the following end point technologies: Microsoft SCCM or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Jamf, Powershell scripting, Office 365, Window Server Administration and Active Directory Administration. Cross-platform experience with VMware vSphere, VMWare VDI, Microsoft OS, enterprise collaboration services, file share management and backup technologies would be a bonus.
- Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated capability of managing enterprise level Microsoft endpoint environments; Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows environments and operating system support; Demonstrated knowledge of Group Policy management, Active Directory/Exchange user management; Strong understanding of computer hardware components and functions and basic networking knowledge; Good understanding of telecommunications and the ability to efficiently document and track technical support issues. Knowledgeable of IT security best practices and real-world implications; Good scripting skills and familiarity with automation techniques; Excellent interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to collaborate and build relationships with peers and customers to align hospital and IT strategic services. The ability to work independently, organize time effectively and the ability to coordinate appropriate resources. Skilled in both verbal and in written communication. Strong customer-oriented people skills. Devises or modifies procedures and systems to solve complex problems. Exercises sound judgment and proven analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to provide in-depth root cause analysis and identify the least impactful and lowest risk resolutions or modifications; Experience with Office 365 and Microsoft enterprise email and background system technologies; Solid working knowledge of centralized desktop management tools including but not limited to SCCM for desktop patching, OS deployment, and software deployment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage and perform the design, planning, purchasing, installation, configuration, and technical support of all end-user devices.
- Develop, maintain, and deploy software and operating system images utilizing Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
- Monitor, review, test and deploy Microsoft Windows and third-party software patches to end-user devices.
- Act as Subject-Matter Expert (SME) in managing our users' systems via SCCM. Provide strategic and technical support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution services to computer and end-users.
- Develop the planning, architecture, and oversee the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance is consistent with hospital goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Configure and maintain Group Policies to configure, update, monitor, and optimize Microsoft Windows environments.
- Provide the engineering support and administration of Active Directory, DNS, and any additional Microsoft and VMware products introduced or existing in the network infrastructure.
- Manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage and assist in the design of Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure
- Operating system/utility software installation, testing, implementation, maintenance, and configuration management.
- Administer and maintain "single sign on" application and ensure the integrity of the system is maintained, system version is kept current.
- Administer and maintain print server applications.
- Ensure nightly backups are successfully completed.
- Propose and implement enhancements to improve system performance and reliability.
- Apply best practices for hardware, software, and storage life-cycle management.
- Maintain and improve system auditing and availability monitoring tools to ensure compliance and security requirements are met.
- Define and document IT project objectives, time-lines, and deliverables that support clinical/business goals in collaboration with hospital staff and management.
- Support project planning and implementation initiatives as necessary.
- Proactively communicate project expectations and progression to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion throughout the life-cycle of each project.
- Build, develop, and grow mutually beneficial vendor relationships.
- Thoroughly document system configurations, changes, and operations.
- Evaluate and deploy new technologies and identify appropriate use cases.
- Identify improvements and implement additional functionality of currently owned technologies to meet growing business needs.
