Job Description
The IT System Administrator is responsible for setting up, troubleshooting and maintaining computer systems and networks, ensuring that the software and hardware operate smoothly and securely. The IT System Administrator will support internal and client projects.
Responsibilities:
o Manage Microsoft Windows and Linux systems.
o Upgrade, install, and configure systems software, computer hardware, and applications.
o Troubleshoot and provide technical support.
o Create and manage system permissions and user accounts.
o Perform regular security tests and security monitoring.
o Research and recommend new approaches to improve networked computer systems.
o Lead implementation of Microsoft 365 Business suite of software and tools for company.
o Maintain networks and network file systems.
o Support planning, specifications, and selection of firewall appliance to meet security needs.
o Install, configure, manage, optimize, and maintain firewall appliance in alignment with security policy.
o Research and prepare IT Policies documentation as requested.
o Manage specific IT systems administration related projects as assigned while incorporating project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, reporting, and collaborating with other departments as necessary.
o Provide mentoring of engineering interns.
o Lead periodic project status and review meetings.
Successful Candidate’s Attributes:
o Relevant degree or diploma in information systems or information technology.
o In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
o Past experience administering SQL Server and/or Oracle Databases.
o Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS and Microsoft Azure.
o Experience setting up and maintaining Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks.
o Basic understanding of 4G LTE cellular data communications and data gateways.
o Good analytical, problem solving, time management, verbal and written communication, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills.
o Solid organization skills, including planning, the ability to make sound prioritization decisions and the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.
