Our Company provides Managed IT Services to companies across many industries throughout Connecticut. We offer onsite service and remote help desk services to company end-users. Work will be at our Cheshire, CT office with onsite field work required.
This is an entry-level position which requires problem analysis, troubleshooting, and communication skills. The ideal candidate can work independently as well as in a team environment to troubleshoot and resolve problems. The ability to communicate effectively with multiple clients as well as with internal teams is critical to this position.
You’ll get exposure to a multitude of IT systems and will be able to test and implement the latest and greatest technology. You’ll be part of a passionate team supporting businesses ranging in size and industry solving IT problems with custom solutions.
As a desktop Support Technician, you will be providing in-person and remote technical support to end users. Responsibilities include the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of business computers, cloud services, VoIP infrastructure, and servers.
Duties:
- Software and hardware installation/maintenance
- End-User telephone support
- Complete work on assigned tickets
- Documenting, tracking, and monitoring issues to ensure a timely resolution
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thorough, and must be able to follow through to the completion of a task. Additionally, the candidate:
- Possesses excellent communication skills including oral and listening skills
- Must keep the team informed for consistency in responses and produce clear documentation
- Must be able to multi-task, remaining clearly focused on several tasks at once
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Will advance technical knowledge through continuous education (training courses, publications, etc.)
- Will be able to learn new skills and adapt to new procedures
Skills/Qualifications:
- Deploy/install, manage, and support desktop operating systems
- Configure and troubleshoot hardware
- Configure and troubleshoot network access/connectivity
- Install, support, and maintain desktop applications
- Have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the IT field
- Basic Office 365 deployment and administration
- Basic active directory / server skills preferred
- Touch type 40+ words per minute (must be able to type correctly, without looking at a keyboard!)
- A+ and Network+ Certification (current) required; additional industry certifications are a plus
- 1 year of hands-on experience, including Help Desk -- preferably in a MSP environment
- Familiarity with industry-standard RMM & PSA tools
- Familiarity with VoIP a plus, but not required
- Must have appropriate, reliable vehicle for field service
