PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for installing and troubleshooting corporate standard hardware and software. Responsibilities include working with end users to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Install, deploy, move, configure, repair, and audit corporate standard hardware and software. The hardware includes PC’s, workstations, printers, phones, smart phones, and other technologies.
- Maintain PC audit records.
- Responsible for the tracking and audit of software licensing.
- Ability to trouble shoot hardware and software problems. This includes contacting vendors or other department peers for assistance.
- Communicate effectively and enjoy working daily with end users, department peers, and vendors. Communicate with the Technical Group as needed to get problems resolved.
- Capable of dealing with interruptions and able to prioritize tasks based on identified priorities.
- Ability to follow operational procedures and maintain appropriate documentation for the job.
- Answer and track calls at the helpdesk.
- Teach training classes as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly and ambitious individual who can work closely with customers.
- Independently motivated individual who will stay abreast on current technology.
- Working knowledge of general office communication wiring.
- Troubleshooting knowledge of printers, conference room equipment and computer hardware.
- Working knowledge of UNIX is a plus.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Associate degree in business, electronics, data processing or computer science, BS/BA preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum three years of troubleshooting experience with Windows, Microsoft products including Office and Operating Systems.
- Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and support PC hardware and software.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY
- Must be able to enter data into computer systems through keyboarding and/or auxiliary devices.
- Must be able to access all floors and workspaces within the building even if it is under the floor, in the ceiling or in closets.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Some bending, stooping and crawling that requires maneuvering in tight spaces (i.e. under workstations, desks, etc.)
VISUAL ACUITY, HEARING, SPEAKING
- Good visual acuity, hearing and speaking is required.
- Must be able to use system consoles and e-mail systems; must be able to use voicemail and communicate with customers and vendors on the phone.
ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULING
- Willing to work occasional overtime when required to meet special deadlines in response to customer requirements.
- Travel to remote sites and seminars.
- Work in the office and computer room.
