Job Description
The German International School Washington D.C. is seeking an IT Support Specialist for its Preschool to 12th grade school located in Potomac, MD. This position is new and its current focus is event planning.
RESPONSABILITIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the day-to-day operations of our computer network
- Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, replacement, disassemble and assemble and upgrade of IT systems related hardware and software that include but not limited to, desktops, laptops, iPads, MacBook’s, printers, smartboards, power banks, printer toners, uninterrupted power supplies, network attached storages devices, surveillance and audio video systems as assigned by IT manager
- Conducts regular maintenance checks on above-mentioned hardware and software system components as scheduled
- Places order for IT systems, manages IT and audio& video inventory
- Train staff and teachers to work with IT systems hardware and software when necessary
- Daily work hours are adjusted based on event schedule
- Special projects and additional duties as assigned
A/V Related:
- Responsible for audio and video components of school events such as board meetings, conferences, student programs, live broadcasts, special and festive events, etc.
- Sets, configures, and tests audio and video system components such as amplifiers, mixers, speakers, laptops, cameras, wired and wireless microphones and makes sure that A/V systems work without interruption during such events
- Mixes and masters live audio and video components for all school related events
- Assists staff in scheduling, configuring, and setting up event spaces as needed to ensure a quality experience
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Working knowledge of Windows, Android, and Apple operating systems
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Good organization, time management and prioritization
- Efficient troubleshooting abilities
- Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening
- Great customer service and interpersonal skills
- Degree in computer science or a related field is preferable.
- Professional certification (e.g. A+, Network+, Security+, CISSP, MCSE).
- At least 1 years of relevant experience preferred
- A track record of working cooperatively in a team
- Flexibility and willingness to work evening/non-standard hours required
- Proficiency in English required, proficiency in German highly preferred
- Authorized to work in the United States for any employer
