Location: Virginia Beach
Our client in Virginia Beach has an immediate need for an part time IT Support Specialist to help support their facility by streamlining the Service Desk support, Network/Infrastructure support and any onsite support as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Operating Systems: Understanding the basics of Windows operating systems including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Hardware: Familiarity with computer hardware components such as CPUs, RAM, hard drives, and peripherals, as well as troubleshooting hardware issues.
- Networking: Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Software Applications: Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot common software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, antivirus programs, and web browsers.
- Troubleshooting: Developing problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with end-users and understand their technical problems.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of support activities, including documenting solutions and procedures for future reference.
- Remote Support: Experience in providing support remotely using tools like remote desktop software or virtual private networks (VPNs).
- Security Awareness: Understanding basic cybersecurity principles and best practices to ensure the security of systems and data.
Qualifications:
- 2+ Year relevant experience in a Help Desk role, ideally supporting a large team.
- Must be able to hit the ground running
- Experience working in a Windows based environment
- Office 365
- Windows 10
- Strong problem-solving and logical analysis skills.
