KaylaTek has a Senior Desktop Support Journeyman position supporting the AFNCR contract. This is a high visibility position supporting a premier Air Force contract.
JOB SUMMARY: Executive Level/VIP Desktop Support Technician in support of the Air Force NCR IT Services program. The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas are: IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E). The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Currently possess an active DOD-8570 IAT II level certification (ie COMPTIA Security + CE)
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Currently possess at a minimum a Final Secret, Top Secret security clearance or TS/SCI SCI preferred.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform proactive, periodic preventive maintenance inspections for all equipment of Senior-level officials; this includes, but is not limited to, NIPR, SIPR, STE, DRSN, UPS, printers and other IT devices.
- Provide IT support during outages to notify offices and expedite/apply temporary fix actions.
- Provide digital persona protection support for customers
- Support aspects of cyber hygiene under the direction of senior officials
- Advise and facilitate account management, anti-virus updates on personal devices, and related cyber security measures.
- Provide a critical link between customer offices, and external providers and must follow prevailing protocol standards when interacting with the customer's staff.
- Serve as the focal point for COOP planning of IT support
- Provide installation and support services for computer hardware, standard and local software applications, communications, e-mail accounts, desktop and laptop systems, multi-function output devices, and computer support to both local and remote users.
- Installation services include managing the setup, installation, moves, adds, and changes for IT hardware and software. Assist users with hardware, software, and operational support requirements using industry standard practices.
- Troubleshoot IT related hardware, e.g., computers, laptops, printers, scanners, speakers, PDA's, cell phones, monitors, desktop cameras, and other peripheral devices, software, etc., to determine the best method of repair.
- When necessary coordinate the repair activities with the manufacturer or extended warranty vendor. Have basic LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) operational knowledge and/or general working knowledge of how devices on a network communicate with each other.
- Provide IT infrastructure support after hours & weekend support as necessary.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience, and a minimum of 7 years of Desktop support related experience.
- Candidate shall possess excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent problem solving and analytical skills, excellent customer service skills and decision making abilities, excellent time management and relationship skills, ability to represent the organizational in a positive, confident and professional manner.
- Currently possess an active DOD-8570 IAT II level certification (ie Security + CE)
- Currently possess at a minimum a final Secret or a Top Secret security clearance or TS/SCI SCI required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience providing VIP IT support to Military leaders (General Officers, Flag Officers and/or SES employees) highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Remedy and building reports for SLA Management.
