It Security Engineer

Purpose
To monitor, analyze and respond to IT security related events, to design and implement security controls in the IT-environment, to participate in IT security related assessments and to resolve IT security problems to ensure that the continuity and efficiency of the IT-infrastructure meets the requirements of the organization to protect the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and privacy.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.
1. Create project plans (timing, allocation of resources, etc.) in order to realize the required project within the predetermined timing, budget and objectives.
2. Ensure build-in security during the development stages of software systems, networks, and data centers
3. Monitor hardware and software for vulnerabilities and risks
4. Monitor security events, incidents, and intrusions to identify breaches in time and communicate them to the IT team
5. Respond to potential threats or breaches by addressing security vulnerabilities
6. Analyze IT specifications to assess security risks
7. Design and implementing security related controls
8. Serve as a security expert and conducting training when needed
9. Draft policies and guidelines
10. Participate in Audits, Risk Assessments, and relevant activities
11. Investigate the IT environment in a proactive and discerning way to make the necessary proposals for improvement in time
12. Work with vendors to implement security solutions
13. Stay well-informed about the evolutions within the specific field, keep his/her knowledge up to date within the context of new developments to strengthen his/her credibility by offering a service that is continuously based on updated knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
1. Education:
a. Bachelor's degree or related training equivalent - preferred
b. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in similar title and scope of responsibility - preferred
2. Systems Experience:
a. Windows Operating System and Microsoft Platform Tools is required (Mac OS is preferred)
b. Expertise across a variety of security products including firewalls, information security and virus protection, etc.
c. Knowledge of mobile devices is required (iPhone, iPad, Android)
d. Familiar with various Web Based Conferencing / Communications applications – required (Teams, Zoom)
e. Microsoft Office Suite, Teams and SharePoint
3. Licenses / Certifications:
a. Valid driver’s license – required
b. Related IT Certifications is plus
4. Language:
a. Proficiency in English required
5. Cultural Experience:
a. Global / International organization - preferred
b. Similar size organization – preferred
