Job Summary
Under moderate to limited supervision, the IT Project Manager is responsible for effective and efficient implementation of software development projects especially in an Agile environment. The IT Project Manager will manage medium to large IT projects, using strategic vision that translates technology into actionable products. The IT Project Manager will support IT Governance, IT PMO and Agile Center of Excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage projects of medium to large scope, size and complexity under the oversight of the Program Manager and the Director
- Plan, manage and execute successful scrum teams
- Collaborate with teams and project stakeholders to prepare and manage objectives, scope, estimates, timeline, budget, & resource plan for Agile projects
- Identify risks and manage risk mitigation plans in close collaboration with project stakeholders and leadership
- Communicate with leadership and appropriate business partners on issues or risks that impact project scope, schedule or budget
- Develop relevant metrics and communications that help the project team see how they are progressing and provide management with insight regarding the performance of the team
- Guide the team and the Enterprise on how to use Agile practices and values
- Support the internal product owner/business stakeholder, especially with respect to refinement and maintaining the product backlog
- Work with the product owner/business stakeholder and their teams to prioritize features to ensure that the team delivers product iteratively and consistently
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily standups, backlog refinements, product reviews and retrospectives
- Identify and eliminate scrum team impediments and facilitate flow
- Define, implement and maintain the processes and tools that allow the PMO to effectively manage project and product lifecycle
- Support release management function by establishing consistent release management process; coordinating release management functions; managing and tracking release calendar; measuring and reporting release effectiveness to leadership
- Train and coach members of the team as needed to optimize the efficiency for product delivery using SAFe and other scrum methodologies
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in all of the below:
- Agile software development (Azure DevOps/VSTS)
- Agile methodology and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
- Agile techniques (User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing)
- Azure DevOps, TFS or similar tools to manage scrum boards and activities
- Intermediate knowledge of P&C insurance industry
- Expert proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to manage application delivery and technology operations using Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
- Ability to promote and facilitate design thinking and innovation
- Ability to lead teams in building effective working relationships
- Ability to mentor and train IT Project Coordinators
- Ability to collaborate with teams, customers and other stakeholders
- Ability to deliver results, creating value for our brands, our system, our customers and key stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively

- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (IT, IS, Computer Science) preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required
- Minimum of five years of related experience, including managing complex projects in a medium to large high-tech development environment, required
- Minimum of three years of experience in a scrum master, Agile Lead or similar role preferred
- Certifications (CSM - Certified Scrum Master, SAFe – SA, PMI/CAPM or PMP) preferred
