The IT Project Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring all projects meet client and company goals on a regular basis. The position requires a combination of project management, technical and interpersonal skillsets. The IT Project Manager will work with cross-functional teams, create project schedules, perform resource predictions, and maintain relationships with business leaders. The role reports to the Director of IT Service Operations and is expected to work from Stratix HQ Wyomissing office while being eligible for remote work opportunities. An IT Project Manager should be an accountable, self-driven individual with a large ambition for growth and opportunity. The role requires multiple years of experience managing clients or IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities of Role:
- Responsible for overall success of a project focused on meeting deadlines, target budgets, and meeting efficiency metrics on a quarterly basis.
- Primary point of contact to the client, responsible for keeping them up to date throughout the project.
- Define project scope, goals, tasks, and resource requirements while creating and managing project schedules.
- Assemble, coordinate, direct and support project teams.
- Regularly review project plans, deliverables, schedules, budgets and participate in project team meetings.
- Resolve project issues and implement change orders.
- Prepare spend and forecast during project lifecycle.
- Assist with Organizational Change Management activities.
- Travel as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
- Keep the Managed Services team and Management team well informed of account changes within the organization and general client-specific news.
- Ability to effectively communicate with client business owners and stakeholders in a meaningful way.
- Remain knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading client strategies.
Requirements
Requirements to Perform Role:
- 3+ years experience managing project and project resources.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Advance understanding of Project Management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum)
- Multiple years' experience managing and selling IT infrastructure and services.
- 2+ years experience interpreting and understanding Scope of Work processes and documents.
- 1+ years of troubleshooting or evaluating IT infrastructure.
- 1+ years working within IT operations and/or IT infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
- Ability to analyze project data and create reports for stakeholders.
- 2+ years operating within a collaborative environment.
- Experience with resource allocation and vendor management.
- Ability to motivate and mentor team members to achieve project goals.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to lead cross-functional teams and build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Enjoys helping people to the extent that no problem is considered mundane, no matter how simple the solution.
- High level of organization, effective communication, and overall team player
- Ability to remain knowledgeable on current and future technologies on a broad level.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Additional Experience Helpful but Not Required:
- College or IT trade school degree preferred
- Project Management Institute certifications (PMI-RMP, PMI-ACP)
- Prior Managed Services experience preferred
- 1-2 years of experience selling or managing Datto BCDR and SaaS protection
- 1-2 years of experience selling or managing Cisco Umbrella (Web Security)
- 1-2 years of experience selling or managing Proofpoint (Email Security)
- 1-2 years of experience selling or managing Crowdstrike and Huntress EDR
- 1+ years experience or moderate understanding of NIST Framework
- ConnectWise MSP Suite (Manage, Automate, ScreenConnect, BrightGauge) experience
