Rose Associates is seeking a dynamic IT Operations Manager, a player-coach role, to lead the technical support and network/infrastructure teams. This hands-on position requires managing the Microsoft 365 stack, server/systems in Azure, and directly addressing technical issues. The role entails not only strategic leadership but also getting into the weeds of day-to-day operations. A significant part of the job involves supporting the technology needs of our residential properties, ensuring effective solutions at both operational and higher strategic levels. The ideal candidate will adeptly balance technical know-how with managerial skills to drive IT excellence across the organization.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead the networking and helpdesk teams ensuring rotational coverage to proactively assist employees with computer related issues.
  • Manage the flow, prioritization, and assignment of support tickets and requests.
  • Maintain a current inventory of desktop hardware and software, and manage installations, upgrades and configurations of desktop hardware and software.
  • Ensure regular security and patching of systems, especially desktops to maintain a robust IT infrastructure.
  • Manage the support of company’s conference room technology and audio-visual systems.
  • Immediately investigate security related activities and incidents.
  • Maintain constant communication with management and staff, on the escalation of critical support outages and issues.
  • Provide management with regular support metric and status reports.
  • Assist with annual and multi-year project planning for company.
  • Recommend desktop hardware and software purchases and execute the rollout of upgrade projects.
  • Assist in the selection process for new helpdesk related solutions.
  • Develop, update, and maintain, user guides and system documentation.
  • Successfully manage the Microsoft 365 stack and Azure systems, demonstrating strong technical proficiency and operational management.
  • Effectively support the technology needs of residential properties, showcasing the ability to provide solutions that align with strategic goals.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and coordination with management and staff, ensuring transparency and prompt response to critical issues.
  • Exhibit strong project management skills in planning, implementing, and maintaining IT systems and solutions.
  • Must be present on-site, with the ability to move throughout the building, ensuring effective communication with staff, vendors, and visitors.
  • Ability to travel between the main office and site locations within the portfolio and be able to ascend and descend stairs, including comfortability with exposure to varying environmental climates and circumstances.
  • Position may be required to perform duties outside their normal responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT operations, with a focus on network and helpdesk management.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft, CompTIA, or Cisco, are preferred.
  • Proficiency and experience in managing Microsoft 365 and cloud-centric operations, particularly in Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to resolve technical issues.
  • Proven ability to manage and support networking and helpdesk teams.
  • Solid understanding of desktop hardware and software management.
  • Experience in overseeing IT security and patch management.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to maintain relationships with various teams and management.
  • Strong project management skills for planning and executing IT initiatives.
  • Work authorization (required).

In addition to base compensation, significant incentive pay and full benefits packages are available.
