Description
We need an IT Specialist in a long-term position. The successful candidate will serve as a Team Member & have two functions within the company. First, he or she must support systems that are mission critical to our manufacturing production environment, and second participate as an IT Team Member on any projects, tasks, & issues, provide input about potential root causes, fixes and/or solutions. We're looking for a responsive, highly productive professional who can work with IT and other JDS Team Members to ensure continued success through corporate projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Contribute as an IT Department & JDS Team Member
2. IT Helpdesk
3. Daily monitoring & management of network infrastructure & business systems
4. Performed daily/weekly/monthly tasks per procedure
5. Project management on IT & corporate level projects
6. Monitor and report on system effectiveness & efficiency
7. Assist with the installation of new hardware and software and help train employees on its use
8. Offer suggestions for possible upgrades and changes within the IT department
9. Willingness to travel to other plant sites & perform necessary work
Job Requirements:
1. Positive teachable attitude & work ethics
2. High School diploma or GED (Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology preferred)
3. Excellent IT communication & management skills
4. Knowledge & understanding of the Microsoft server & client operating systems
5. Knowledge & understanding of Microsoft Office suite
6. Knowledge & understanding of server hardware, network switching, routing, security gateways, wireless access points, etc.
7. Advanced problems solving & root cause analysis skills
8. Attention to detail and documentation skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to work in a team environment with various skill sets within the organization
2. Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes
3. Work performed in a factory setting; frequently walks the production shop floor.
4. Regularly lifts and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 60 lbs
5. Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, kneel, crouch and walk about the production facility.
6. Regularly must use a ladder or man lift and crouch in tight spaces.
7. Must be able to work at computer/desk for extended periods of time.
8. Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment.
9. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing so others will understand.
