The IT Manager - Engineering is responsible for guiding information technology strategies by researching and implementing technological solutions that support and advance the organization’s various business units. Exhibits strong commitment to architecture design and security best practices to ensure high availability of infrastructure and applications. Hands-on engineer, architect, analyst, leader and mentor.
Overview:
- Provide architectural guidance and oversight of information technology across teams and systems.
- Identify, evaluate, and remediate information security risks in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements, and aligns with and supports the risk posture of the company. Ensures the security of data and high availability of systems is part of system design.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to formulate strategies, plans and implement technology initiatives. Analyzes the needs of different departments and determines ways to meet business objectives by modifying existing or developing new information technology systems.
- Ability to provide escalated support for information technology systems.
- Manages project execution plans and reports on the status of project timelines, contingencies, and deliverables.
- Participates in the selection, training, and performance management of the IT Engineering positions and provides day-to-day resource support and mentoring to the IT department. Assists with establishing, planning, and administering the overall policies and goals for the information technology department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required
- 7+ years related experience in IT Infrastructure and/or IT Architecture
- 3+ years of direct leadership experience
- Experience in foundational infrastructure (Windows Server, virtualization, network, database)
- Experience in workspace technology (PC, VoIP, MDM, conferencing)
- Experience in coding, scripting and automation (API, PowerShell, Python, SQL)
- Experience in information security, risk and availability (SIEM, BCP/DR, NIST Standards)
- Experience with public and private cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, O365, other SaaS platforms)
- Ability to manage all phases of the project life cycle
- Ability to apply clear and consistent performance standards
- Ability to effectively communicate technology infrastructure, processes, procedures and policies to all levels of the company
- Excellent customer service, timely response and customer focus skills
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers
Work Schedule: Generally, 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, or as needed to meet business needs; may require working hours outside normal business hours for on-call emergencies.
