What We Need:    

We are looking for an IT Procurement Manager to join our HNI team.    

As the IT Procurement Manager, you will evaluate and process requests for IT purchases.  You will collaborate with all departments to complete purchases in accordance with company and government regulations and coordinate with suppliers regarding all material/services deliveries.  Additionally, you will partner with the IT controller to support the budgeting, analysis, and accounting for the IT department.   

What You Will Do:    

  • Support the Category Manager in the negotiation of vendor agreements relative to pricing, performance, and terms and conditions of IT contracts.
  • Educate, consult, and influence IT and business stakeholders to understand and follow HNI’s procurement and purchasing program and processes.
  • Collaboratively partner with the business, suppliers, and vendors to assess and promote performance and development.
  • Proactively seek and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide data reporting and analysis in support of special projects (sourcing and spending initiatives, and procurement operations).
  • Perform management tasks as required including team building, training, mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and any other related activities.
  • Ensure team members are in alignment with both departmental and business goals.
  • Ensure that full documentation of contract terms, vendor performance, systems, software, and hardware changes, is made available and is updated regularly.
  • Stays informed and makes others aware of the business area’s procurement activities, procedures, and policies.
  • Participate in procurement and contracting dimensions of projects and/or management requirements, performing impact analyses and taking appropriate actions as directed.
  • IT Procurement – Validation and analysis of spend, identifying and reporting on variances and trends.
  • Proactively work with supplier management to understand the long-term budget impact of new hardware / software purchase or lease agreements.
  • Ability to utilize existing financial and ERP software tools to develop, track, forecast, and manage spend against Information Technology budgets.
  • Support regular IT contract expiry and renewal meetings.
  • Set up, track and monitor vendor performance, pricing, and contracts to ensure ongoing service level and competitiveness reducing expenses and improving effectiveness.

What You Have:    

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or IT related field
  • 4+ years of experience in IT procurement and project management preferred. 
  • Experience with technology device, support and service structures.

What You’re Good At:    

  • Leadership skills in a matrixed environment including the ability to work independently.
  • Strong understanding of supply agreements, contractual terms, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to be self-directed, multi-task and prioritize demands.
  • Well versed in negotiating contractual terms including (but not limited to) pricing, payment terms, indemnification, and service level agreements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools – Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work cross functionally with teams to balance solutions in accordance with budget, schedule, and business needs.
  • Professional and effective facilitation skills – able to facilitate group discussions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment – able to multi-task with proven follow-through and adherence to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player - establishes solid working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, define a problem space, and work to solve.
