Precision Science is looking for an IT Help Desk Technician for basic desktop support for hardware and printer issues, working with outside IT vendors to schedule computer maintenance, client-side programs, computer updates, phone programming, etc. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with various interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
KEY DUTIES OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Install and configure software and hardware Set up accounts and workstations. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements Troubleshoot issues and outages Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls. Upgrade systems with new releases and models Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies. Requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 1 + years relevant experience
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
- Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
- Windows and MAC background experience
- Android Operating experience
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:
- BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred.
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively across the organization in a team environment
- Self-motivated and ability to effectively prioritize tasks
- May be required to work a flexible schedule, occasional mandatory overtime
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged sitting and standing. Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
