Position Summary
The Business Analyst position supports functional areas in their use of business applications, and works closely with other members of The Community Solution central IT team to ensure that these systems are configured and administered effectively for all schools and campuses within the System. This position requires strong familiarity with higher education business functions, along with in-depth knowledge of higher education information system design and configuration, to ensure that student information is being managed efficiently, reliably, securely, and accurately, and functiuonal area process needs are met.
Principal Duties
- Effectively gather then translate business requirements relating to student information management into effective solutions that integrate technology, processes, and people.
- Generate and help maintain strong documentation of business processes, configuration guides, and reference materials
- Serve as subject matter expert for use of business applications to support key functions.
- Facilitate discovery interviews with business process owners.
- Ensure the integrity and security of student information by making configuration decisions that are appropriate for the TCS multi-school/multi-campus model.
- Produce data and reports to meet business unit information analysis needs.
- Act as primary troubleshooter to resolve data accuracy issues within the various business applications.
- Serve as a resource and facilitator for “superuser” staff within the business units.
- Work closely with the rest of the central IT Applications team and the business units to administer a business application upgrade process that includes thorough quality assurance testing, user training, and integration testing with other integrated systems.
- Maintain strong, positive relationships with application software vendors.
- Coordinate and oversee support work performed by vendors under the direction of the IT Application Analysis Manager.
- Manage business application software projects as needed under the direction of manager or Senior IT Leadership.

Position Qualifications:
- 3+ years of writing requirements
- BA/BS in related field or relevant experience
- 3-5 years’ experience supporting users of a top-tier higher education information system such as a SIS, CRM, and/or ERP product in a higher education setting
- 1+ years’ experience working with relational databases and reporting tools
