This position is headquartered in the Rancho Cucamonga/SDC Region and is eligible for either a remote-based or office-based telework schedule. Employees must be able to report to their assigned headquarters office as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Telework eligibility requires employee residence in California per California Government Code Section 14200 which states: “telecommuting means the partial or total substitution of computers or telecommunication technologies, or both, for the commute to work by employees residing in California.
Job Description and Duties:
Under the direction of the Supervising Lottery Agent, Los Angeles Basin / Region, the incumbent conducts complex and sensitive administrative, civil, and criminal investigations and other law enforcement activities for the California State Lottery (Lottery) with direct or minimal supervision. This position also provides technical advice to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to assure the integrity, honesty, and fairness in the operation of the Lottery, pursuant to Penal Code 830.3(p). Incumbent may work alone, as part of an investigative team, or as a lead person, and coordinate the work of other enforcement staff. Incumbents must communicate effectively orally and in writing; read and interpret various codified laws, rules, and regulations.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Valid POST academy certification or a POST Basic Certificate
- Experience with conducting interviews and/or interrogations of suspects, witnesses and victims
- In-depth knowledge of investigative procedures and techniques, and have an aptitude for evaluating information (including computer data) and problem-solving
- Ideal candidate will be able to work independently or in a team environment
- Bilingual skills are desirable, but not required
