This is a full-time benefited position working out of the Fillmore Complex in West Olive, Michigan. Travel to other county locations as needed. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m. The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provides technical and administrative field support to certified law enforcement staff in the investigation of criminal activity; gathers, accesses, and shares crime scene data and electronically stored data used in the investigation of crimes.
- Processes and maintains forfeiture files; prepares forfeiture notices and affidavits and disperses property according to forfeiture guidelines; advises county counsel and prosecutor of forfeiture activities upon completion of the case.
- Oversight of the Law Enforcement Notification referrals from Child Protective Services and provide the initial reports and information for the investigators or deputies.
- Research criminal activity and data; compiles data from various sources; creates link charting and other visual aids for investigative and crime-based research projects or trial preparation.
- Receives and processes citizens' information and tips concerning suspected illegal activity and researches information for validity; enters data into Criminal Database sources and forwards actionable information to Sergeants for assignment and case follow up.
- Provides mug photos of targeted suspects update and maintains photo files.
- Processes information supplied by deputies and detectives concerning subjects under investigation by accessing agency computer systems.
- Assists certified law enforcement staff with documentation and organization of property evidence, photos, and crime scene diagrams.
- Assists certified law enforcement staff with transporting, preparing, installing, using, and monitoring specialized equipment such as cameras, and alarm systems.
- Monitors, responds to, and relays information via police radio to certified law enforcement staff in the field; uses police radio or phone to contact detectives to respond to emergencies and to exchange critical information.
- Provides testimony, statistical reports, and other information or evidence gathered during investigation in court proceedings for the investigators and deputies.
- Performs other functions as assigned.
Licenses And Certifications:
Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Michigan and an acceptable driving record.Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of law enforcement operations, policies and procedures.
- Thorough working knowledge of office administration protocols and procedures involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative.
- Proven experience with related computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database management applications, and mapping.
- Ability to set up, install and operate surveillance equipment tools.
- Through working knowledge of forfeiture procedures pertaining to the seizure of personal and real property.
- Ability to engage in complex problem solving in a team environment.
- Ability to research, compile, analyze, interpret, and prepare a variety of fiscal, statistical, and administrative reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to deliver presentations, think objectively, have good interpersonal skills, and exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
- Analyze and understand verbal and written and instructions.

Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed in a normal office environment and community settings including crime scene environments with possible exposure to a variety of disease agents and to bloodborne pathogens.
