ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
The primary purpose of this position is to monitor, cycle inventory, evaluate, improve, and control costs related to inventory, as well as provide retraining support to operations personnel as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts physical inventory counts and reconciliations, which include but are not limited to monthly scrap and adjustment reports.
- Verifies clerical computations against the physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count. Investigate and report reasons for any discrepancies.
- Interfaces with all departments to resolve inventory discrepancies affecting inventory levels.
- Analyzes current inventory process and makes recommendations to improve and/or create new process.
- Using strong interpersonal skills to interact daily with all department managers to gather needed. information and improve upon (or create new) inventory processes.
- Verifies all supplier and customer returns.
- Update material lists in regard to rejected, discontinued, or expired items.
- Add raw materials and liquids from the lab as needed into inventory.
- Pull samples as needed and makes adjustments in the ERP system.
- Works with Accounts Payable to correct any invoicing issues pertaining to purchased raw material.
- Monthly counts of expense items
- Works with operations/warehouse to correct receipt errors.
- Run monthly inventory reports and communicate findings and trends with all department managers.
- Tracks issues to the incident report and meets monthly with management to review and make improvements as needed.
- Responsible for updating new finished goods in ERP system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL/SKILLS NEEDED:
- Experienced in the development, implementation, and process control of inventory of $8-15 million+.
- Will be able to evaluate and analyze the current inventory system and be prepared to consistently improve inventory processes, including the tracking of “scrap”.
- Managing inventory cycle count.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interact well with all department managers and employees in gathering needed information to constantly improve and update inventory.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Outlook)
- Must have a strong understanding of ERP systems and exhibit a strong understanding of computers.
- Strong understanding of business processes, concepts, and terms related to manufacturing.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate well with others.
- Able to work as a strong team player in a group but also perform independently.
- Needs to be a ‘self-starter’.
- Detail-oriented, able to develop and extract reports from ERP system, and tracking information as needed and/or as requested.
- Strong troubleshooting/reasoning skills.
- Ability to successfully multi-task with good planning/prioritizing skills.
- Strong basic math skill
- English comprehension including speaking, reading, and writing is required for our business's necessityto ensurea safe and effective work environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience working with ERP systems and inventory control preferred
- Manufacturing background is preferred. Experience in food/beverage manufacturing preferred.
- Forklift experience a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasionally exposed to odor.
- Regularly exposed to heat or cold (warehouse not temperature controlled)
- sits at computer, stands and/or walks for long periods of time during 8 hour day.
- Some repetition in this job.
- Lifts up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Exposure to food allergens such as, but not limited to, milk eggs, tree nuts, wheat, and soybeans will occur.
