The Ambulatory Surgery Center at St. Mary is seeking a full-time Inventory Specialist.
This position is responsible for supporting the supply chain, procurement, acquisition and distribution of materials, equipment and services, by maintaining the supply inventory for the ASC’s perioperative and administrative supply areas. Assists with establishing and maintaining appropriate par levels and organization of supplies and equipment with an overarching goal of maximizing efficiency and reducing cost. Assist with vendor and delivery management as needed. Conducts bi-annual physical inventory of all supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience with medical/surgical inventory supplies in a hospital/ASC setting
- High school graduate
- Able to multitask
- Attention to time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Accuracy of information
- Strong analytical, problem solving & organizational skills
- Requires team-oriented person with strong interpersonal and cross-functional working skills in dealing with internal and external customers
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbal and written, with all levels of management and external customers
- Able to work effectively manage time and work efficiently under time constraints while delivering results by critical deadlines
- Familiar with computer systems, inventory software
- Excellent knowledge of computers and internet, work fluently with Microsoft Office, email, browsers, Windows operating systems, and PCs
- Experience with inventory management
- Ability and knack for working with numerical data
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Basic knowledge and understanding of clinical and medical terminology preferred
- Knowledge of general office procedures, such as copying, faxing, filing, and shredding
- Innovative and creative in the form of continuous improvement to internal processes

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains par levels of stock and supplies for pre-op, PACU, and OR sterile/clean storage
- Ensures that equipment is available when ordered or requested
- Works with Physician/Physician Offices as needed to ensure that specialty items are available
- Alerts appropriate party when equipment is new or when equipment would need to be inspected on arrival to the center, serve as liaison with biomedical service company as needed
- Maintain all storage areas such that they are clean and organized at all times
- Monitor and manage expiration dates of all supplies, effectively stock such that older product is utilized first
- Maintains consignment, conducts regular inventory
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Executes job tasks consistently with minimal error

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Moderate physical effort; ability to lift 10+ lbs; prolonged sitting, moderate bending, reaching, standing, stooping; read, write and understand English, near visual acuity and color discrimination; ability to maintain a courteous and professional demeanor in all circumstances; ability to deal with difficult personalities.
