Inventory Manager
Overview
The Inventory Manager is responsible for purchasing the fabric used by Individualized Shirts, a division of Tom James Company. You will work closely with Tom James’ head of shirt merchandising, and supervise a staff of nine people. This group provides customer service for Tom James salespeople, supports our wholesale customer service, creates and distributes all sample folders and swatches for salespeople and stores, and maintains accurate inventory records for Individualized Shirts’ fabric inventory, which is composed of over 2000 fabrics at any time. We introduce, maintain, and phase out over 300 new fabrics each year.
Tom James is 100% employee owned. We are the largest manufacturer and retailer of custom clothes in the United States, and we do business in over 20 countries.
Qualifications
- Apparel industry experience, a must.
- Five years experience, including two years in a supervisory role; or equivalent combination of education/experience
- AS400 experience preferred
- Intermediate skills with Excel, database systems, etc. Ability to use Outlook and to quickly learn new programs is required.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Establish priorities, ability to multi-task, and detail oriented
- Self-motivated, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
