Position Overview:
What You'll Do
- Manage all aspects of inventory, including procurement, storage, and distribution for current (3) and future business units
- Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures that ensure accuracy and efficiency and align with business budget plan.
- Monitor inventory levels and make appropriate adjustments to avoid stock outs or overstocking.
- Regularly review order history and trailing trends to adjust order amounts as required by business need
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
- Work closely with the finance team to manage inventory costs and ensure profitability and execute accurate monthly (if required), quarterly and end of year audits as required by finance to ensure accurate inventory levels are known
- Oversee the tabbing and highlighting services to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage the order fulfillment operations and associated staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Develop and implement processes to improve order fulfillment efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and report on inventory performance metrics to management.
- Responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring a team of inventory associates.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support individual growth and development.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
- Set performance goals and KPIs for the team, and monitor progress towards objectives.
- Provide direction and support to Customer Service to ensure that they have the information needed to support our customer inquiries in matters relating to order fulfillment
- Regularly review the queue for and promptly respond to emails from students or customer service staff regarding shipping and orders in a professional and detailed manner for the customer
- Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field preferred. Applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in purchasing and inventory management, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational and time and task management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
