Position: Inventory Control Group Lead
Reports to: Manager of Inventory Control and Fulfillment Center Projects
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Inventory Control Group Lead has primary responsibility to assist the Inventory Control Manager with maintaining an accurate inventory in the Retail, Wholesale and E-Commerce areas. This position also has overall responsibility to assist all other Supervisors, Managers and the Senior Director of Fulfillment, Logistics and Facilities as they see fit in the day to day operations. As part of the overall duties, there are 4 main areas of responsibility:
Assist with maintaining an accurate inventory in the Retail, Wholesale and E-Commerce areas performing and monitoring all inventory and stock control functions
Assist with the daily operation of Perpetual Inventory and operation of sale events
Assist with Retail & Wholesale replenishment tasks
Be sufficiently cross trained to assist in other departments
Provide leadership and motivation to others.
The 5 main areas are discussed below.
1)Assist with maintaining an accurate inventory in the Retail, Wholesale and E-Commerce areas by performing and monitoring all inventory and stock control functions:
§ Inventory Adjustments and Cycle Counts
Perform Retail, Wholesale and E-Commerce inventory adjustments as necessary
§ Inventory adjustments should be performed after a thorough check of the UPC which includes verifying quantities in other current and prior locations.
Perform cycle counts on a regular basis to verify WMOS inventory accuracy.
§ Cycle counts are performed as needed based on the following requirements: back ordered unit, top selling unit, low quantity unit, inventory move error and order processing error or receiving error.
Be able to train other Fulfillment Center associates on inventory adjustment and cycle count procedures
Adjustments and cycle counts equaling 10 units or less are permitted to be processed without approval.
All adjustments and cycle counts exceeding 10 units must be approved by the Inventory Control Supervisor.
§ Inventory Floor Moves
Assist the Inventory Control Supervisor with seasonal moves which include moving inventory from current season picking areas to prior season storage locations and consolidating the prior season floor
§ Be an active part of moving merchandise as well as instruct associates on the proper procedures for inventory moves
§ Be involved in the decision-making process as to which areas inventory will be moved and how much inventory should be moved to backstock
Perform inventory investigations for residual units to maintain clean, accurate moves
§ Retail Store Transfers
Assist the Inventory Control Supervisor with the transfer of Retail store merchandise back to Fulfillment Center stock, this includes:
§ Prep cartons for receipt with necessary labels
§ Maintain organization by date and monitor transfers that are in process
§ Verify transfers upon completion
§ Shortage Investigations
Conduct a thorough investigation to locate the unit(s)
§ Investigations of shortage should include examining the surrounding area and verifying quantities in other current and prior locations.
§ If the unit is available in another location, the units must be adjusted out.
If the missing unit is located, it should be scanned and placed in the carton to initiate pack confirmation. Once pack confirmed, the carton should be sent to shipping.
If the unit is not located after an investigation has been performed, the missing unit must be back ordered from the carton.
Cycle count all styles with backordered units in Retail, Wholesale and E-Commerce
§ Zone/Barcode Checks
Perform zone checks on a regular basis to verify WMOS inventory accuracy
The following are approved zone check methods:
§ Use inventory reports to verify that the units at the location match the report
§ Use inventory reports to verify that a random selection of locations matches the report
§ Identify loose units and cycle count that UPC
Investigate any units that do not match the inventory report. If no additional inventory exists, the unit(s) can be adjusted into the system in the appropriate area. If additional inventory does exist, the UPC must be cycle counted to either adjusted the unit(s) into the system or fulfill a short location.
Be able to train other Fulfillment Center associates on zone check procedures
Correct any units in Barcode Error locations and return the inventory to stock after cycle counting the location; barcode errors should be checked daily.
2)Assist with the daily operation of Perpetual Inventory and operation of sale events:
§ Perpetual Inventory
Assist the Inventory Control Supervisor with the set-up and execution of the daily Perpetual Inventory Counts
Review the PI Report for cycle count variances from the previous day at the UPC level
§ Variances between 1 to 4 units are not investigated due to the low unit difference
§ Variances between 5 to 9 units, perform investigative procedures by physically searching for any unit shortages/overages
§ Variances of 10 units or greater, also physically research, and perform a systematic investigation in WMS to find the units or determine the reason for the shortage/overage
§ Sale Events
Assist, as directed by a Supervisor, Manager, or the Senior Director of Fulfillment, Logistics and Facilities with the operation of sale events
3)Assist with Retail & Wholesale replenishment tasks
· The Inventory Group Lead is responsible for assisting with replenishment tasks within the Retail & Wholesale department
o This may take place through running and/or checking various replenishment reports, directing associates to immediate needs, and physical helping replenish inventory.
4)Be sufficiently cross trained to assist in other departments:
§ Be able to actively participate in all other areas of the Fulfillment Center as directed by a Supervisor, Manager and the Senior Director of Fulfillment, Logistics and Facilities
§ Assist with changes in operating procedures to continually improve efficiency
5)Provide leadership and motivation to others
§ The Inventory Group Lead is responsible for providing leadership and motivation to others, this includes:
Serving as a good role model and personally conducting oneself in a diligent, professional, punctual manner,
Remaining serious about getting the work done on time and accurately,
Personally performing work, not merely direct others, and
Addressing procedural errors and inappropriate behavior strictly within the Inventory and Stock Control department
§ The Inventory Group Lead is expected to rise to the occasion during seasonal peaks and dips to meet objectives. This includes motivating others to rise to the occasion, primarily through personal example.
§ All activities with the company must be carried out with professional and ethical conduct. The Inventory Group Lead is expected to work with the inventory and company resources in an appropriate, ethical manner. It is unacceptable for any employee to make improper use of the inventory or company resources, or knowingly allow anyone else to do so.
SKILLS REQUIRED TO PEFORM SUCCESSFULLY:
§ This position requires responsibility, dependability and commitment.
§ This position requires a high sense of urgency and the ability to meet difficult seasonal peaks, workloads and deadlines. In the apparel business there is no concept of lateness. The company is either on time or it has missed the deadline.
§ This position requires the understanding and appreciation that the merchandise is high quality, premium apparel which should be handled with care and respect.
§ Basic personal computer skills on Microsoft Excelâ, Microsoft Wordâ and Manhattan are required for the position. Training will be provided if necessary.
§ Personal strength and stamina to move, stack, and load boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
§ 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a distribution or materials handling environment is preferred.
MISCELLANEOUS:
§ This position is considered full-time, non-exempt, hourly for fringe benefit purposes. This position is eligible for overtime. The Senior Director of Fulfillment, Logistics and Facilities must approve all overtime in advance.
§ This position must operate within the guidelines detailed in the “Fulfillment Center Work Rules”. A copy has been attached for your reference.
§ This position is reviewed annually.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
