The Purchasing and Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all orders and all inventory of spare parts and related data for the Maintenance service. Ensure adequate levels of storage of parts needed to reduce downtime of plant equipment.
- Develop relationships with current vendors and establish new relationships with future vendors
- Utilize the CMMS (ManagerPlus) system for updating and managing inventory
- Develop procedures for managing and maintaining the spare parts inventory
- Train and maintain training of the maintenance team in the use of CMMS as it relates to spare parts inventory usage
- Develop and manage inventory reports to maintain and improve inventory health
- Present inventory health reports to the maintenance manager on a regular basis
- Create purchase orders for parts and supplies based on established reorder points and/or critical vs non-critical categorization, as well as internal requests
- Monitor purchase orders for shipment date and status. Follow up with vendors regularly to ensure the status of ordered parts is up to date.
- Receive, reconcile, and put away inventory
- Resolve issues with vendors as needed
- Develop a program to maintain tight security over the inventory. Assure that only authorized personnel have access to inventory areas.
- Maintain and monitor storage locations to ensure the optimization of space availability
- Conduct periodic cycle counts on spare parts to maintain and ensure adequate inventory to support maintenance and production needs. Establish cycle count frequency
- Work with the Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisors to stage parts for upcoming work orders
- Organize return shipments as needed
- Manage and update the unit costs of parts and supplies within CMMS to aid in the monitoring total inventory valuation, preventative and corrective maintenance costs, and KPIs.
- Run inventory usage reports for the accounting department as requested
- Work with accounting to ensure vendor accounts maintain good standing
- Establish regular communication with the management team about problems with the inventory or the process, including back-ordered parts or parts reaching critical inventory levels
- Supervise the inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, including weekly and monthly reports.
- Research and implement new technology, software, and/or ideas to promote continual improvement within the department
- Adhere to Bakerly’s safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to Bakerly’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- All other duties as assigned by management
- 0-2 years Inventory Control experience is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Good problem-solving abilities and results-oriented
- Ability to work independently or within a team
