We are hiring for Procurement and Inventory Control.
Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager, this position will work to identify key suppliers to enhance and develop ongoing relationships, and plan purchases based on best ROI and order fulfillment timelines. An important part of this role is to maintain PDC inventory at pre-determined levels to support branch and Inventory needs and to verify and confirm supplier invoices and receiving of supplier product.
The responsibilities of Procurement and Inventory Control include:
- Stock and customer orders daily
- Monitor inventory turns
- Perform daily cycle counts
- Identify aging and excess inventory across branches for redistribution, promotions, or returns
- Develop annual spend reports by supplier
- Anticipate seasonal sales trends (seat covers, AC, prep, etc.)
- Audit price accuracy across branches
- Review outstanding stock, customer, and backorders daily
- Identify and report vendor promotions for possible special sales
- Plan and audit cycle counts
- Schedule and lead annual physical inventories
- Communicate delays and backorders to parts and service teams
- Monitor dirty core levels across branches
- Daily review of negative on hand
- Regularly train site staff in proper Inventory Control techniques and best practices
- Investigate receipt discrepancies
- Initiate and monitor product claims (shortages/damage)
- Understand supplier's return policies and procedures
- Identify and report prospective bulk and promotional purchasing opportunities
- Research and report alternative supplier options, while monitoring key supplier purchase requirements
