Internship - Environmental Consulting

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

As our new Intern, you will be working with Project Managers and other Consultants on a variety of environmental investigation/remediation, environmental compliance, health and safety, sustainability, and due diligence projects within our broad Environment and Health practice. You will help deliver innovative, inspiring, and sustainable solutions that set new standards and make a genuine difference to our clients, the environment, and society.  As you work on challenging projects, you will be given increasing responsibility and rely on experienced managers and colleagues to offer support and a helping hand as you learn and develop in your role.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Your role may include a variety of work such as:

• Completing environmental field and health and safety training
• Participating on project teams, evaluating remediation and environmental control technologies, and developing plans for site remediation
• Performing environmental field sampling including soil, soil gas, groundwater, and indoor air sampling
• Conducting research on current environmental regulations and technologies
• Assisting sustainability, air quality, and environmental due diligence practitioners as needed
• Conducting data analysis and visualization for inclusion in technical reports.

• Candidates at Junior (completion of 4 semester) or Senior level (completion of 6 semesters) working toward a B.S or M.S degree in Chemical, Civil, Geological, or Environmental Engineering; Environmental Sciences; Geology or Geological Sciences, and have an interest in pursuing a career in Environmental Consulting.
• Candidates with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above are strongly preferred.
• Candidates must be willing to travel up to 20% on average and possess a valid driver's license.
• The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); to high noise levels, and to hazards such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to chemicals. Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear PPE on some occasions.
• Proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD, R, Python, Microsoft Power BI is a plus
