Interior Design Intern
Summary:
The Interior Design Intern will be responsible for contributing to various tasks associated with the Architecture Studio by assisting and supporting Interior Design and Architecture. This role will be exposed to various project types consisting of Educational Design, Commercial Design, Governmental Design and Residential Design. The primary responsibility is to be a part of the design team, contributing and assisting with conceptual design tasks through construction documents.
Essential Functions
- INTERIOR DESIGN SUPPORT
- Assist with a variety of design tasks: collaborate on interiors projects including selecting and organize design options, furniture & finish selections, order finish samples, team communication, etc
- Develop interiors production drawings from programming through conceptualization, design development and construction documents
- Assist with the development of 3D renderings and presentation deliverables
- Responsible for the organization, sample ordering and upkeep of the materials library
- Organize resources and manage and schedule sales rep meetings
- Participate in team and staff meetings as well as training and development opportunities as seen fit
- ARCHITECTURE STUDIO SUPPORT
- Support Architecture Studio as needed by assisting with a variety of tasks: may include assistance with preparing presentations, formatting specifications, typing meeting minutes, assembling design packages, and architectural drafting.
Required Skills & Behaviors
- Knowledge and understanding of Interior Design concepts and the ability to apply to a variety of project types
- Ability to utilize graphic software, such as CAD, Revit and Sketchup, to create production drawings and presentation materials
- Familiar with Adobe Suites (Photoshop & InDesign) & Microsoft office
Organizational Relationships
- Reports directly to Senior Interior Designer, Practice Area Leader
Required Education/Experience
- Enrolled in an Interior Design program at an accredited college or university
