The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team's success, learn about JM Family's companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.
The ideal candidate will be available to work full time hours during the Summer Internship Program (June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024).
This internship will include projects and tasks that relate to Risk Management, Originations Trends, Collection Strategy, Fraud Prevention as well as interdepartmental relationships to support the SET dealer body.
Work alongside an exciting team to impact the effectiveness of our Consumer Credit policies and strategies.
- Automation
- Critical Decision-Making workflows
- Analyzing portfolio metrics and profitability
Responsibilities:
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing
- Interact within a UAT test environment with mock credit applications
- Work with data to validate actual versus expected outcome of test scenarios
- Record findings and report results to Senior Risk Analyst
- Build Inter-departmental relationships to gain additional insight into data/findings
- Support special projects by providing research, building data tables, compiling and illustrating the trends/stories in the data to management.
- Assisting Analysts with documentation, validation, and daily reporting
- Learn about Southeast Toyota Finance with an in-depth view of Risk/Sales/Pricing/Collections
Qualifications:
- This is a full-time, hybrid position.
- Ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor or graduate degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university with a focus in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Finance related fields (qualified candidates actively enrolled for a degree in a related field will also be considered) and must have completed at least one semester of classes.
- Relevant previous experience in the Auto Industry a plus, Auto Finance experience preferred, including Risk Models, Profitability, Scorecard Models, Policy Rules, lending laws,or similar experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- SAS, SQL knowledge is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and contribute, working alongside and in support of the Risk Analysts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Prior internship, professional work experience and finance/business experience preferred.
- Candidates should be detail-oriented, creative, curious, and willing to contribute as a team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to support cross-functional communications with a wide variety of individuals, and internal partners; and ability to participate in presentations.
