THE POSITION:
Under general supervision of VP of HR & Risk Management, contributes ideas and implements programs and procedures that directly impact all operational compliance, safety, security, accessibility, and risk issues. Major responsibilities are to identify, evaluate opportunities and best practices, along with compliance parameters, develop and implement control techniques, and minimize exposure to loss. In addition, this position is accountable for proactively addressing issues related to theft, fraud, ethics and operational accountability.
As the Risk & Safety Manager you will:
- Assist in updating and communicating changes to SOP’s, drills, and monthly trainings.
- Being the point person for collecting monthly documentation and insuring compliance.
- Maintaining confidentiality of and uses discretion in dealing with sensitive information.
- Conducts inspections and Safety Audits of facilities as assigned.
- Assists with investigations involving work-related injuries.
- Maintaining documentation as required for CARF accreditation.
- Partners with risk leadership to review incident trends to help identify risk and corrective action.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Equivalent to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of loss control and claims program management, safety or overall risk management, loss control or safety experience preferred.
- OHST or CSP preferred
- Certified Safety Professional preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certificate preferred
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work occasional after-hours and weekends. This position may require travel to multiple locations daily.
- Incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a privately owned reliable means of transportation to travel throughout GIMI territory to visit stores and locations as necessary.
