The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Intern, Market Research!

We are committed to providing interns with an immersive experience learning about and supporting the Association’s life-changing work. This internship with the Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) marketing communications team at AHA National Center will provide hands-on experience with strategies and initiatives to communicate and promote ECC’s products and programs as well as communicate updates and other information to the AHA Training Network. The internship will provide an opportunity to collaborate with teams across the ECC department and throughout the Association.

The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.

This individual will obtain practical experience and receive hands-on training in various disciplines, to include volunteer recruitment/management, community event planning and management, public health research, community partner networking/connection, and program development/implementation.

Internship Overview:

  • Time Commitment: 25 hours per week
  • Internship Duration: 5/22/2023 – 8/11/2023
  • Position can be located anywhere in the U.S. and my have the opportunity for in person experiences
  • Salary: $23.00 per hour

Responsibilities

The intern will assist with the following duties supporting the CPR, first aid, and emergency cardiovascular care business:

  • Drafting articles for eNewletters, emails, to convey information to external and internal audiences.
  • Managing submissions of content to AHA’s Broadcast team, including completing intake forms and scheduling broadcast dates with Broadcast team.
  • With SharePoint department lead, working to develop processes and forms, and then disseminating information to internal work groups on submission processes for Communications Team.
  • Helping to draft communications materials such as product announcements, FAQs, training PPTs, and other documents.
  • Assist with developing social media content for department’s social media channels.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AP style writing.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written communications skills, including technical writing and content development.
  • Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
  • Ability to deal professionally in a corporate or non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding projects and programs from inception through completion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
  • Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Must have strong content and technical writing skills.
  • Must be proficient designing in PowerPoint and Canva. InDesign proficiency is also preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
