We are seeking a summer intern in our Budd Lake, NJ facility in our Coating department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Organize legacy coat tooling - part numbering and revision assignment, physical storage, Agile records, organizing and standardizing existing design (SolidWorks) files
- Coating recipes - standardizing recipe naming and revision control, organizing file storage on machine, system back ups
- Inspect, final wipe, and load optics for coating per production schedule
- Preparation of optical substrates for thin film disposition
- Load parts and operate Ultrasonic Wash Line
- Maintain chambers including disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly
- Performs routine and periodic maintenance on coating chambers
- Determine if surface quality is fully compliant to a drawing or specification
- Suggest vacuum chamber troubleshooting as required
Education & Experience
- Pursuing a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- CAD experience preferred
- Experience in optical coating technologies preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Accurate data entry skills required
- MRP/ERP experience preferred
- Experience and understanding of LEAN principles preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred

- Ability to work from written instructions
- Ability to successfully manage a production workload
- Ability to use a computer for production administration and data entry
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, fully gowned as needed
- Exposure to minimal chemicals such as, methanol and isopropanol
