The Integrated Power Systems (IPS) Construction Support Engineering team has openings for highly motivated professionals to provide support for construction of the COLUMBIA Class, specifically systems and components under IPS’ cognizance. In this role, engineers will be expected to provide comprehensive technical oversight of construction activities and will interface with Design and Engineering, Ship's Management, Detail Planning, Operations, and Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP).
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Provide engineering oversight and assisting trade personnel to overcome emergent shipyard issues that arise during construction
- Interpreting design/drawing/specification requirements
- Providing direction and/or evaluation to Quonset Point trades via disposition of Change Notices and TIR UNSATs
- Provide surveillance of manufacturing inspection and testing of IPS components at Quonset Point and Groton
- Multidisciplinary engineering evaluations to support all manufacturing needs
- Facilitating implementation of design and process improvements

Required:
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering
- 0-9 years of relevant engineering experience
- Ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance or higher
- Must be from organizations outside operations (Casciano/Gabriel)
Preferred:
- Prior deck plate construction experience is highly desirable
- EB Construction Support experience
- Familiarity with Electronic Desktop (7G, Work Orders, ELCADD, ERS, etc.)
- Familiarity with TeamCenter (CR/CN experience)
