Intake Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Intake Specialist. As an Intake Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the intake process for new patients and ensuring accurate and timely documentation. This is a vital role in our organization, as you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking our services. Duties: - Answer incoming calls and assist patients with inquiries or concerns - Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar - Collect patient information and enter it into the electronic medical records system - Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations - Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth patient flow - Provide excellent customer service to patients and address any issues or complaints - Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations - Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus - Previous experience working in a medical or dental office setting is preferred - Proficiency in using phone systems and office equipment - Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix, eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar platforms - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment - Knowledge of medical scheduling procedures and terminology is a plus We offer competitive pay based on experience.
