Bilingual Intake/Outreach Specialist

Education Institute has openings for Bilingual (Spanish, Swahili/Kinyarwanda, French Creole, or Arabic)Intake/Outreach Worker.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position identifies and registers eligible refugee students through partnered resettlement agencies and direct outreach. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for making a difference in the community and can help fulfill our organization’s mission by reaching out to the community and making meaningful connections.

Responsibilities:

-Meet with clients and verify their eligibility for the Refugee Social Services program that includes receiving English classes.

-Verify clients' documentation.

-Verify with case managers, past and present course attendance.

-Handle, copy, and file confidential documents from clients.

-Register and enroll clients in ESL classes.

-Propose and establish ESL classes based on the enrollment of clients in the program.

-Assess client's needs and recommend services needed for success during ESL classes.

-Perform outreach in the community associated with the placement of clients associated with partner agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or foreign equivalent. Associate degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service.
• Knowledge or experience in educational programs is a plus.
• Experience and knowledge in a non-profit program, preferred but not required.
• Must be fluent in Spanish, Swahili/Kinyarwanda, French Creole or Arabic

PREFERRED SKILLS

The ideal candidate will have computer skills, be a self-starter, be responsible and have the ability to multi-task

Must have a vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
