The successful candidate will be responsible for instruction in all levels of the TRAL program. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to a re-envisioned TRAL curriculum and activities, with the potential to develop and teach new courses. The candidate should provide evidence of successfully employing innovative pedagogical techniques and technologies in the classroom and in the field. The successful candidate will promote diversity through their pedagogy and student mentoring, as well as collaborate with OSU-Cascades in interdisciplinary community outreach efforts. OSU-Cascades currently offers upper division undergraduate and graduate courses. Excitingly, the campus is expanded to a four-year university in fall 2015 with an ambitious enrollment goal of reaching 3,000-5,000 students by 2025.
OSU-Cascades is a small, friendly campus, often selected by students for small class sizes and intimate academic environment to enable meaningful student and faculty interactions. Additionally, the size of the campus encourages a high degree of interdisciplinary interaction and collegiality.
Bend, called the "outdoor playground of the West,", is world famous for both its outdoor pursuits and pristine beauty. A warm inviting mountain getaway intertwined with a cosmopolitan appeal is what everyone discovers when arriving to this central Oregon city. Majestic snow-capped peaks permeate the high-desert skyline producing some of the best weather in Oregon with sun-drenched days/cool nights and endless options for outdoor recreation time in all four seasons of the year.
Applicants for this position are expected to embrace the University's commitment to providing an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff and the public, and recognize the enrichment such diversity brings to the campus, the workplace and the student experience.
The anticipated start date is March 15, 2024.
