SUMMARY :
This entry-level sales role receives ongoing on-the-job training designed to prepare an individual for an outside territory sales position. An Inside Sales Rep works closely with branch Territory Sales Managers and collaborates with all Metal Sales Manufacturing personnel.
Primary responsibilities of this role include the following: driving the adoption of Metal Sales e-commerce platform (Metal Market) among key customers, improving the closing ratio on outstanding sales quotes, and general support of the Territory Sales Managers as determined by the General Manager.
Pay for this position ranges from $21-26 an hour, depending on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Driving the overall adoption of Metal Market among the branch customer base. This includes identifying customers, initial and ongoing training, support, marketing, and overall strategy for increasing sales through this system.
- Responsible for managing the follow-up on all branch sales quotes and improving closing ratios.
- Being the primary contact for a dedicated customer list and performing various INSIDE SALES activities such as calls, appointments, customer service, etc.
- Recording sales activities in CRM
- Working together with TSMs to improve contacts among key and target customers.
- Proactively soliciting new customers and new business that fit customer profiles
- Providing job quotes in conjunction with the Estimating and Customer Service team
- Handling customer service issues for the dedicated accounts
- Participating in product knowledge sessions and customer contractor events
- Proactively communicating with various internal Metal Sales teams such as Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and more
- Ability to generate reports and status updates
- Work closely with and train Home Depot & Lowes Pro Desk associates on our products and ordering process
- Follow up on and improve the close ratio of quotes with Home Depot & Lowes.
- Occasional site visits to Home Depot & Lowes to improve awareness and support with Pro Desk associates
- Manage quote center for Home Depot & Lowes
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- At least 1 year experience in a customer service role or a bachelor’s degree in business or marketing
- Experience utilizing a CRM
- Building products experience, ideally within the roofing products space
- Willingness to travel 25% of the time to perform outside sales activities and desire to potentially transition to an outside sales position in the future
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and problem-solving abilities
- Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Solid computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and quoting software
- NetSuite ERP experience a plus
