Injection Molding Process Technician
· 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm Monday-Friday)
· 3 Years of Injection Molding/Anti-Fog experience
· Certified Overhead Crane Operator
· Starting at $29 an hour
Summary/Objective
The Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for designing, implementing, controlling and optimizing industrial processes within the Injection Molding program. The Process Technician ensures process runs smoothly and efficiently while meeting quality standards and regulatory requirements. The main responsibility of Process Technician includes debugging of molded parts and optimization of the anti-fog spraying line process for the production of automotive lenses.
Essential Duties
1. Set up and operate Injection Molding machines
2. Analyze and troubleshoot Injection Molding problems
3. Conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards
4. Work with engineers and manufacturing personnel to improve Injection Molding and anti-fog coating processes
5. Develop and maintain process documentation
6. Train and mentor Injection Molding and anti-fog operators
7. Responsible for promoting a safe work environment and preventing injuries through the use of, but not limited to, 6S, job rotation, and ergonomic work practices.
8. Conducting tests and monitor process performance throughout the production
9. Follow all IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 policies and procedures.
10. Mold Installation and start-up, shut-down and removal, overhead crane operation
11. Adhere to company policies and regulations
12. Conduct process documentation of molds and ensure all auxiliary equipment is set to correct settings
13. Closely observe machine parameters to verify consistency of temperature, pressure, cycle times.
14. Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve all areas.
15. Interface with Quality Department on Corrective and Preventive actions for customer complaints and internal quality issues.
16. Continuously analyze the assigned area of responsibility for improved methods of production, communication, reporting, cost controls, and make recommendations to the appropriate departments to maximize efficiency.
17. Take part in customer initial samples part validation (PPAP)
18. Attend daily production meetings
19. Ensure that first shot approval is obtained from Quality Inspectors
20. Document all problems and process changes and provide action plans with supervisor.
21. Daily communication with various departments and all levels of management through email, telephone, face-to-face is necessary in order to optimize the efficiency of the operations.
22. Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
1. Completion of High School or GED
2. 3+ years of experience in Injection Molding with presses ranging from 700-1400 tons and anti-fog coating process
3. Certified Overhead Crane Operator
4. Strong understanding of OSHA standards
5. Experience with lean manufacturing principles
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Strong data analysis and problem solving skills
8. Must be experienced in mold set-ups.
9. Knowledge of plastic engineering and product manufacturing principles and practices
10. Strong computer skills with MS Office knowledge
11. Must be able to climb in and out of machines
12. Frequent Lifting or lowering objects up to 50lbs
Preferred Qualifications-Not Required
1. Bachelor`s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting
3. Flexible to adapt to changes in scheduling, able to handle high-stress decision making scenarios.
