Injection Molding Operations-Lead Process Technician-3Rd Shift (11Pm-7Am)

Summary/Objective

Landmark Plastic, a leading manufacturer of plastic products used in the horticulture industry is looking for a Lead Injection Molding Process Technician. This position will provide support, leadership and supervison in setting up, operating, and molding thermoplastic parts on various machines.
Major Work Duties
Essential Job Functions

• Observe meters and gauges to verify and record temperatures, pressures, and press-cycle times.
• Connect water hoses to cooling systems of dies, using hand tools.
• Remove parts, such as dies, from machines after production runs are finished.
• Perform maintenance work such as cleaning and oiling tooling parts.
• Smooth and clean inner surfaces of molds, using brushes, scrapers, air hoses, or grinding wheels, and fill imperfections with refractory material.
• Operate hoists to position dies or patterns on foundry floors.
• Remove finished or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses, and other equipment, stamping identifying information on products when necessary.
• Obtain and move specified patterns to work stations, manually or using hoists, and secure patterns to machines, using wrenches.
• Select and install blades, tools, or other attachments for each operation.
• Repair or replace damaged molds, pipes, or other equipment, using hand tools or jib cranes.
• Inventory and record quantities of materials and finished products, requisitioning additional supplies as necessary.
• Select coolants and lubricants and start their flow.
• Adjust equipment and workpiece holding fixtures, such as mold frames to ensure proper functioning.
• Maintain inventories of materials.
• Position and secure workpieces on machines and start feeding mechanisms.
• Mix and measure compounds, or weigh premixed compounds, and apply them to cavities, or molds.

Qualifications: Strong computer proficiency including all Microsoft Office Products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint. Ability to learn our MRP system, QAD. Knowledge of basic math skills along with some more complex formulas including measurements.

• Must demonstrate mechanical reasoning skills and ability.
• Must have excellent deductive reasoning and troubleshooting skills.
• Must correctly practice all safety procedures.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Skill in the use of hand tools, drills, grinders, saws, and other related equipment preferred.
• Excellent time management and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong team player with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Proper PPE is required. Potential to be very hot in the summer months and cold during the winter.
• Physical Demands: In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the following have been identified as physical requirements of the job: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds. The employee is frequently required to sit or stand for long periods of time and walk distances, as well as stoop, bend, kneel and crouch.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, reach or feel and manipulate objects or controls.
• Must be able to work in fumes and odors. (non-hazardous)
• Must be able to work in loud areas and wear hearing protection.
• Must be able to work with oils, grease and dust, with limited personal protection (aprons, gloves, etc.)Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Landmark Plastic offers weekly pay and the opportunity to earn a $1,000 new employee engagement bonus during your first 120 days of employment.

Weekend, overtime and evening hours may be required depending on business conditions
