Summary
Reporting to production Supervisor, the Injection Molding Mixer is responsible to mix material, complete molding condition sheets, and perform daily 5S duties. Assist with other department responsibilities when needed.
Functions & Essential Duties
Material Mixing
• Identify material required for mixing
• Mix material as required and record material usage on material mixing log
• Store material appropriately with proper identification/labeling
• Empty grinders as needed; organize and dispose of regrind appropriately
Quality
• Perform visual inspection of materials
• Transfer raw materials and move finished product as needed
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product, process
and quality system
Administrative
• Accurately record mixed badges, scrap, defect information, downtime and lot control.
• Perform 5'S Checklist duties
Education or Required Experience
• High School or GED required
• Formal/continuing education in IM processing preferred
Physical Requirements
• Position requires walking, standing, sitting, bending and/or reaching
• Position requires lifting of up to 50 lb. several times per day
• Ability to stand and walk for an 8 - 10 hour shift
• Ability to safely climb and descend a ladder
• Ability to effectively hold and utilize small hand tools
• Ability to visually detect small defects in production parts or materials
• Must be able to hear buzzers, horns, and/or warning signals emitted by production
equipment or alarms
Skills
• Ability to read and understand mixing recipes
• Knowledgeable in the use of measuring devices and weigh scales (basic metrology)
• Ability to use measuring devices such as calipers, gauges, etc.
• Basic quality/inspection skills
• Must have the ability to read, write and understand English in a manner that is
sufficient for effective communication to accomplish responsibilities and tasks
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to understand and follow written procedures and processes
• Basic computer skills (Excel)
Safety
• Adhere to safety procedures when operating equipment
• Adhere to company general safety policies and procedures
• Report any unsafe conditions or other safety related issues immediately
• Use appropriate machine guards and procedures
• Wear required PPE (personal protective equipment)
• Adhere to company ISO14001 policy as it relates to environmental issues
