Description of Position: Leads a cross-divisional team within J6 to conduct IT systems analysis for the technical accuracy and integrity of all architectural design and implementation actions for USSPACECOM’s future capabilities. As a recognized DoD practitioner in existing and future architectures, this position coordinates with USSPACECOM’s leadership to provide direction and guidance for the development of future technology road maps for all J6 managed IT capabilities and systems. Oversees requirements management throughout the life-cycle management of enterprise architecture road maps.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
· Functions as the lead system engineer in the development of an enterprise architecture that involves the integration of complex operations, communications, and computer systems. Recommends, documents, and analyzes all requirements for future IT enterprise architecture for mission and business utility for USSPACECOM’s unclassified and classified networks; key mission critical systems and services; and connectivity to mission sites. Analysis of requirements includes but is not limited to, vulnerability assessments, compliance to standards, completeness, and long-term sustainability. Assesses the impact of change to user operational, system, and network requirements as it relates to operations and constraints. Evaluates alternatives and recommends solutions to management. As required, participates in HQ USSPACECOM J6 change management processes, configuration management processes, and MILCON planning processes to gain understanding, make recommendations for improvements, and determine if these processes are aligned with architecture road maps to meet command UCP tasks for J6 managed IT capabilities.
· Provides advanced enterprise architecture design assessment and analyses of existing and future Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTMLPF) capabilities for USSPACECOM, the Joint Staff, components, and the services. Reviews and assess USSPACECOM CDR guidance, DoD POM planning guidance, DoD CIO guidance, and director J6 guidance to endure that J6 architecture road maps and J6 managed IT capabilities align with the various guidance; make recommendations to IT systems and service owners on any misalignments. Recognizes and justifies the modification of existing tactics, processes, techniques, systems and/or networks and the removal, modification, and/or replacement of those solutions that are no longer capable to support operational needs.
· Develops short and long-range requirements for replacement of existing systems and serves as a nationally recognized expert advisor on all efforts to modernize and transform IT assets and programs. Working with functional system owners, performs in-depth system and solutions analysis of the enterprise architecture for a variety of projects that range in complexity and utility. Through surveys, research, and investigation, determines what needs to be done to ensure systems and facilities meet current and future mission needs and requirements. Consults with contractors, vendors, and architecture and engineering firms, and contracting officers to resolve difficult and unforeseen problems with design and regulator limitations. Improves efficiency, reliability, flexibility, and maintainability of systems and works to expedite information sharing and problem resolution.
Qualification Requirements:
· 1 year of experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent) in performing Information Technology Specialist duties.
Highly Desired:
· Experience in CJADC2, GIDE or other Space C2 programs
· 3 years of experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent) in performing (4-5 major duties of position) desired.
· Bachelor’s degree (or 5+ years relevant experience)
· Master’s degree preferred.

· Occasional travel away from the regular duty location may be required

Pay: $125,242.00 - $191,508.00 per year
