SalaryThe Opportunity: Information Security Analyst
The Port of Virginia – Virginia Port Authority is seeking an Information Security Analyst I to support the Security Operations Center (SOC) as the first line of defense to identify potential Information Security incidents.
What You'll Do: Responsibilities
- Triage and investigate incidents: review the Microsoft Sentinel incidents page to check for new incidents generated and start investigating any new incidents.
- Use Sentinel workbooks to investigate anomalies. Monitor and review other security resources such as Symantec, Solarwinds and Umbrella.
- Review daily vulnerability reports and provide security updates to supervisor.
- Perform vulnerability assessments.
- Escalate potential security incidents, implement countermeasures, and recommend operational improvements.
- Keep accurate incident notes in case management system.
- Provide analysis of the results of the monitoring solutions.
- Assist Cyber Hunting team with advanced investigations as needed.
- Deploy patches to desktops when directed.
- Actively seek self-improvement through continuous learning.
- Provide shift status reporting.
- Ensures public records and information are managed, maintained and disposed of in accordance with records management policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all security, safety, and environmental regulations and policies within work area at all times. Performs other duties as assigned.
Who You Are: Qualifications
· Technical certification required, such as, Security +, Network +, CSA, or other related field certifications.
· 1 year of Information Security experience.
· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, written and verbal.
· Ability to learn quickly, prioritize multiple tasks, and make quick decisions in an ever-changing environment.
· Time management skills.
· PC skills to include Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
· Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
· Listening and observational skills.
