Position Overview

Arlo is in search of an Information Management Specialist to support the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Office of the Chief Operating Officer (OCOO) Front Office (FO) and Business Operations Branch (BOB) with an internal network review and update.

Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors

  • Survey FHFA’s internal intranet website to locate sources of OCOO services and information available to employees.
  • Survey the OCOO intranet website to locate sources of OCOO services and business operations available to employees.
  • Compile, catalog, and analyze information and services.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to determine whether information needs to be retained, updated, or removed within FHFA records and Information Management guidelines.
  • Categorize information by defined parameters using user experience best practices.
  • Provide recommendations on the best method to post information for end user accessibility and efficient delivery of services and information.
  • Work with the website team to update information in the agreed-upon manner.
  • Works with IT specialists and other accessibility experts to ensure 508 compliance of all digital communications interfaces and platforms.
  • Provide layout, wireframe, and content segments (e.g., announcements, policies, photo gallery, communications library, upcoming training and events, templates) proposal using user experience best practices for a new OCOO intranet site, called the “OCOO Gateway,” built in an existing Microsoft SharePoint environment.
  • Collaborate with the OCOO communications team to determine how to implement the new OCOO intranet section. Provide a project plan for the implementation of the project.
  • Develop the OCOO Gateway in Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Provide training on content management for the Microsoft SharePoint site.
  • Works with IT specialists and other accessibility experts to ensure 508 compliances with all digital communications interfaces and platforms.
  • Addresses user complaints, collaborates with team members, stays updated on SharePoint standards and technologies, and delivers functional and user-friendly sites.

Education and Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust.
  • Bachelor’s degree in management studies or related major.
  • An associate degree + 4 additional relevant years of experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree on a year-per-year basis.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on program and/or project.
  • Works under moderate supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Uses subject-matter knowledge and judgment related to the program and project to carry out tasks and requests.
  • Coordinates and assists with questions related to the contract or project. Coordinates and enters data into appropriate systems.
  • A high preference for knowledge of SharePoint architecture and administration (but not required).
  • Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing. Proficient in various types of Information Technology resources such as Microsoft Office Suite products.
