This position is generally virtual; however, we are seeking a candidate local to the DC area who is available to provide occasional on-site support throughout the year.
Salary: 90K-100K DOE
The Senior Communications Specialist will provide strong writing, editing, and management skills to support a federal government client in Washington, DC. While team collaboration is very necessary, the candidate must also be a self-starter, and be able to independently manage tasks while maintaining open communication with team members and the client.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the issues relevant to clients.
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans.
- Support social and traditional media outreach, including strategy, content development, and tracking.
- Organize, implement, and monitor social media campaigns.
- Develop and execute content calendars for social media.
- Participate in issue-specific research, writing, and strategy development for various communications.
- Develop, draft and edit communications for distribution to clients and other external audiences.
- Develop digital copy (e.g. press releases, e-mails, media advisories, social media content).
- Coordinate with designers, writers, digital strategists, and quality assurance staff to develop creative digital assets.
- Manage preparation of calls and meeting agendas and facilitate internal follow up for deliverables.
- Manage client relationships and day-to-day client needs.
- Collaborate with other team members to address client challenges.
- Execute other relevant duties as warranted.
