Flushing Hospital Medical Center has an opening for Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Coordinator. In this role, the IPC Coordinator under the supervision of the Director and Assistant Director will be responsible for all aspects of hospital acquired infections (HAIs) surveillance review and reporting, surveillance rounds, and participation in performance improvement activities to prevent infections and transmission of pathogens. This position will work collaboratively with all roles and departments across the organization to achieve IPC program goals. In addition, provide staff education to hospital personnel and consultation with the organization, CDC, and state health departments. The responsibilities encompass compliance with Joint Commission (JC) standards, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION
- Bachelor degree in a healthcare related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Have primary professional training in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, epidemiology, or other related field is preferred.
- For licensed personnel, current NYS license required.
- CIC certification is required within 3 years of job
- Experienced Infection Control Coordinators MUST HAVECertification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) awarded by the Certification Board in Infection Control (CBIC).
- 3-5 years Infection Prevention and Control experience in an acute setting.
SKILLS:
- Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
