Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Biostatistics, Biology, Epidemiology or a related field and four years of experience in healthcare epidemiology and/or infection control, and/or healthcare associated infection surveillance and/or communicable disease epidemiology, OR a Master's degree in a related field and three years of such experience, OR a Doctoral degree in a related field and one year of such experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or graduate degree in infection control, biology, statistics, public health, epidemiology, nursing, or a related field. Certification in Infection Control (CIC), knowledge of infection control policies and practices related to MDROs, experience in outbreak investigation or control. At least three years of work experience in healthcare-associated infection surveillance and/or as a healthcare facility Infection Preventionist. Experience conducting research or quality improvement projects targeting healthcare-associated infections or public health, providing technical assistance and training to healthcare providers, and presenting to professional/scientific audiences; strong organizational and analytic skills; and excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt them to various audiences and settings. Experience interpreting data and/or conducting data analysis using epidemiological principles and methodologies. Experience in utilizing health-related data sets or disease registries and working with confidential data. Experience with information technology and systems used for electronic public health reporting. Supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
Health Research Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated public health professional to join our team. As an Infection Prevention Specialist I, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities by performing a broad range of epidemiological, Infection Prevention, and surveillance activities necessary to address novel and targeted multidrug resistant organisms. The Infection Prevention Specialist I will provide education, training, and guidance to acute and long-term facilities on Infection Prevention and control practices for MDROs, work to improve inter-facility communication to ensure that it includes relevant infection control information, such as MDRO status, and develop and implement HAI quality improvement and performance management activities.
