To be considered for this role, you would need:
- At least two years of experience working with infants & young children.
- An Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Children & Families or other related field.
- To pass all required state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
- To be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the United States.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs., sit on the floor w/ children, maintain energy level throughout the day, have proficient literacy skills & demonstrate positive communication skills with staff, parents, guardians, and children.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Supervision and evaluation of all students under their care.
- Assisting students with their personal hygiene as needed.
- Parent or guardian/teacher conferences three times a year or as needed.
- Coordinating activities with other teachers & classes.
- Assisting the director & assistant directors with designated activities including, but not limited to:
- Keystone Stars activities & procedures.
- Following OPENING & CLOSING Procedures as applicable.
- Classroom maintenance, cleaning, and inventory.
- Logging individual student and class wide activities, meals, naps, and using the restroom into the center's online app.
- Attendance and participation in monthly staff meetings.
- Must strictly adhere to and enforce all BLA policies & procedures (for both staff & clients).
This listing is only for individuals interested in full-time employment. For candidates with the minimum required experience & education, pay starts at $17.00 per hour. For candidates with the required 2+ years of experience & an advanced degree, pay is up to $19.00 per hour (related to experience & education), with an increase based on performance after completing your first 90 days. Bright Light Academy is open five days a week, but staff work a FOUR-DAY work week. Full time staff are also eligible for paid time off, sick days, annual pay increases related to performance & reduced child care.
