Three Dog Bakery, a client of OMNI Human Resource Management, is the Original Bakery for Dogs and a pioneer in the premium dog treat industry. Since 1989, they have been manufacturing and distributing delicious, all-natural dog treats to Food/Drug/Mass and Pet Specialty retailers in the US and Internationally.
Three Dog Bakery is seeking an Industrial Mechanic who is responsible for actively supporting the operation in the manufacturing facility by keeping all equipment and machinery maintained and reparied, as well as general facilities maintenance.
Primary Tasks & Duties:
- Manage and perform scheduled equipment Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (PM) Program.
- Responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, including PLC operations, and repair of industrial machinery as safely, quickly, and efficiently as possible.
- Read and accurately interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Responsible for general maintenance of the facility, which may include electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, welding, HVAC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Initiates purchase order for equipment and facility needs including tools and machinery inventory parts.
- Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
- Utilize forklifts, hoists or other handling equipment to move material.
- Maintain and secure work tools.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Assist the operations team as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Provides support to the production staff to minimize downtime and maintain high safety and quality standards.
- Communicate proactively and effectively with production associates and management.
- To work in a manner which is safe, clean, and well organized.
- Work independently.
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
Essential Functions/Key Competencies:
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting: proficient in PLC, electrical, industrial automation, mechanical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance skills.
- Hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
- Possesses knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as mechanical drawings, schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Position Requirements:
- Five or more years of related experience in an industrial environment.
- Experience in the use of basic hand tools.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Manual dexterity required.
- Frequent lifting and ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as mechanical drawings, schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical skills (High School equivalent).
