Industrial Engineer for Livonia, MI:
Interact with the customer and understanding the scope of work to be done. Develop work measurement using Basic MOST & Identify each task as value added or non- value-added work by part number. Coordinate with new product introduction team and providing build support. Support different phases of build and update the activities, times, and work instructions accordingly. Develop and Optimize workstations by enhancing the process as per PFMEA and control plan recommendations and applicable countermeasures. Provide build support and ECO (Engineering change management) support for product (material handling equipment) and programs as assigned. Validate Routing Accuracy, establishing Standard time, Manpower Projection and Line Balancing, creating Standard Work Element Sheets, and Product BOM Management. Create detail workstation layout for each work cell/assembly. Detail process definition by each cell / station / line for processes getting impacted / relocated. Develop Standard time for new processes and Initial PFMEA for new / modified processes. Perform revised line balancing and define man-assignment based on process change / modification, define operator requirement. Perform 3M (Muda, Muri) and Ergonomic analysis (YAMAZUMI Chart) for new processes. Identify improvement opportunities in the existing / new process and layout. Prepare training document for Process / Product / Equipment changes. Define High level estimate on new Tooling, Equipment and Fixture requirement if any. Identify and apply value added / nonvalue added classification to each task. Study operation video and analyze operator movement / posture for all work done by an operator for every station on the assembly line, being physically present at the shop floor. Manage the Engineering & Manufacturing change orders on the shop floor specific to standard times evaluation due to product and process changes on a continuous basis. Validate the quality of deliverables. Prepare and present weekly project status to customer. Develop and maintain technical documentation and project reports.
Master’s Degree in Production Engineering or Industrial Engineering with 12 months of Experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Production Engineering or Industrial Engineering with 5 years’ progressive experience will be considered in lieu of Master’s Degree, foreign equivalent accepted, 40 hrs per week.
